Jeff McCann was born and grew up in North Carolina. Upon graduation from his undergraduate degree, he taught for twelve years in Christian schools and served as a school administrator for five years. In 1987 McCann accepted a full-time college teaching position. Except for six years as the Associate Executive Director of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools, he has served in colleges in teaching and administrative roles. He joined Luther Rice in 2009. 

McCann is on the board of Baptist Mid-Missions, a mission agency with 1,000 missionaries serving around the globe. He has taught internationally and traveled in several countries. He has served as a pastor, children’s pastor, and youth pastor.
McCann trusted Christ at age eight. He is married and has two adult children.
