According to Atlanta.net: “Atlanta is the ninth largest metro area in the US with more than 4 million residents in its 20-county metropolitan area.”  The large and diverse population of Atlanta extends many exciting opportunities for students to participate in while attending Luther Rice College & Seminary.  The cost-of-living in Atlanta is lower than many major metropolitan cities yet offers a wide array of amenities.

The Luther Rice Local Area Navigator is a comprehensive guide to the local area around Luther Rice College & Seminary.  It is designed to provide students with a general knowledge about major places to visit in the Atlanta area including sporting events and local attractions; as well as a list of restaurants, hotels, and apartments for rent in the Lithonia area near campus.

Luther Rice College & Seminary is located less than 20 miles east of Atlanta, Georgia.  In addition to providing online seminary and undergraduate degrees to students all over the world, we continue to serve the local Atlanta area with our beautiful campus in Lithonia.

Driving Directions

Traveling East on I-20 - If you travel Interstate 20 east toward Augusta, go to Exit 74 (Evans Mills Road, Lithonia Industrial Blvd).  At the first light, continue to go straight.  Take the next right split (follow the sign to Evans Mill Road East).  At the first red light, turn right onto Evans Mill Road. Luther Rice is down on the left.

Traveling West on I-20 - If you travel Interstate 20 west toward Atlanta, you should get off at Exit #74 (Evans Mills Road, Lithonia Industrial Blvd).  At the end of the off ramp, take a left at the traffic light and go back under Interstate 20.  Go to the first traffic light and take a right onto Evans Mill Road.  Travel 3/10 of a mile.  Luther Rice is on the left.

From I-285 - If you travel Interstate 285, go to Interstate 20 east toward Augusta.  Get off at Exit #74 (Evans Mills Road, Lithonia Industrial Blvd).  At the first light, continue to go straight.  Take the next right split (follow the sign to Evans Mill Road East).  At the first red light, turn right onto Evans Mill Road.  Luther Rice is down on the left.

From I-75 or I-85 - If you travel Interstate 75 or Interstate 85 (north or south), go to Interstate 285 to Interstate 20 east toward Augusta. Get off at Exit #74 (Evans Mills Road, Lithonia Industrial Blvd).  At the first light, continue to go straight.  Take the next right split (follow the sign to Evans Mill Road East).  At the first red light, turn right onto Evans Mill Road.  Luther Rice is down on the left.

From I-675 - If you travel Interstate 675 north, go to Interstate 285 east to Interstate 20 east toward Augusta.  Get off at Exit #74 (Evans Mills Road, Lithonia Industrial Blvd).  At the first light, continue to go straight.  Take the next right split (follow the sign to Evans Mill Road East).  At the first red light, turn right onto Evans Mill Road.  Luther Rice is down on the left.

Buildings

The three buildings located on the main campus provide 38,000 square feet to support the educational and educational support programs.  These buildings are within close proximity to each promoting Luther Rice as a walking campus.  There are classrooms, computer lab, conference rooms, chapel, library, student center, vending services, and office space located in these buildings.

The first building located on the Luther Rice main campus, Burris Hall (1970), is a two-story, concrete-block building with a stucco exterior and 12,000 square feet of space, 6,000 square feet per floor.  This is a fire-resistant-rated construction.  The facility was acquired in 1990 and renovated, including technology and lighting, for educational purposes.  The first floor houses a video studio, chapel/classroom, vending, and storage.  The second floor has classrooms and storage.

A second, two-story, brick building, Williams Hall (1992), has a total of 13,000 square feet, 6,500 square feet per floor.  The first floor contains student and administrative support space and a classroom/conference room.  The second floor contains faculty offices, library archives, and a classroom/conference room.  This facility has technology and appropriate fire safety systems, including sprinklers.

A third, two-story brick building, Woodlawn Hall (2004), also has 13,000 square feet, 6,500 square feet per floor.  This state-of-the-art facility provides technologically advanced classrooms, lighting specifically designed by professional engineers for the library and classrooms, and modern fire safety equipment, including sprinkler systems.  It houses the library on the first floor and three (3) classrooms and a student center on the second floor.
