While all programs are delivered online, Luther Rice is located in Metro Atlanta, where our campus serves as the headquarters for faculty, staff, and student events. This model combines the flexibility of online education with the accountability and support of an established campus community.
What does the online learning experience look like at Luther Rice?
Luther Rice’s online learning is asynchronous, allowing students to complete coursework on a flexible schedule within a structured academic calendar. Courses feature pre-recorded lectures, discussion boards, and assignments, with no required live class meetings—yet regular faculty interaction, peer engagement, and academic support ensure students are never alone.

No. Luther Rice has no required campus visits or residency requirements. Students may visit campus or attend special events if they choose, but nothing is mandatory.
Does as online students receive the same instruction and academic support as an on-campus students?
Yes. Online students at Luther Rice receive the same academic rigor and Christ-centered instruction, taught by experienced professors who are deeply invested in their students’ growth and calling. Our online model is intentionally designed to foster meaningful faculty interaction, mentoring, and timely feedback—often resulting in greater personal access than traditional classroom settings. Accreditation
Is Luther Rice accredited?
Luther Rice College & Seminary is accredited, holding both regional and national accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS), and the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
Luther Rice is not accredited by ATS. With a 20+ year legacy of distance and online theological education - established well before its widespread adoption by ATS institutions - Luther Rice pursued accreditation through respected and comparable Christian accrediting bodies that affirm academic rigor, faculty qualifications, and institutional integrity, while fully supporting our 100% online educational model.
