Financial Aid
There are various sources of financial aid to help you with your educational pursuits. You can apply for aid for campus-based classes, 100% online studies, or a combination thereof. If you need more information or are interested in applying for financial aid, click on the appropriate link below.
FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID
Federal financial aid comes in the forms of grants, work study, and/or loans. Eligibility can depend upon factors such as income, grade level, enrollment status, etc.
As directed by the U.S. Department of Education, federal funds are allotted to the lowest income families first, but funds are also available for middle and upper-income families.
How to Apply for Federal Aid
- Complete a 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- The 2026-2027 FAFSA applies toward summer 2026, fall 2026, and spring 2027. Luther Rice’s school code is 03100900.
- If you are applying for a federal loan (subsidized/unsubsidized loan), complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) if you have not signed one for Luther Rice within the last ten years. You may visit StudentAid.gov to sign an MPN (login using the same FSA ID as your FAFSA).
- If you are applying for a federal loan (subsidized/unsubsidized loan), complete loan Entrance Counseling if you do not already have an outstanding federal loan (from attending Luther Rice or any educational institution). You may visit StudentAid.gov to complete Entrance Counseling (login using the same FSA ID as your FAFSA).

GEORGIA STATE AID
Luther Rice undergraduate students are eligible to participate in Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship, Zell Miller Scholarship, Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant, and other Georgia state aid programs.
How to Apply for Georgia State Aid
- Complete a Georgia State Financial Application (GSFAPP) at www.gafutures.org
- You must Create An Account at the GAfutures site before you complete a GSFAPP
- Complete a 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov
LUTHER RICE GEORGIA SCHOLAR AWARD
The Luther Rice Georgia Scholar Award (GSA) is an academic merit-based scholarship available for eligible undergraduate Georgia residents who are HOPE (click) eligible (3.0 GPA or higher). Luther Rice Georgia Scholar Award scholarships are offered to eligible applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic success.
Annual scholarships range from $1,500 to $4,000 based on high school GPA, full-time/part-time enrollment status, and availability of funds.
Scholarships are evaluated for academic compliance each term (HOPE Scholarship eligibility and Satisfactory Academic Progress) and renewed automatically if met. If the scholarship is lost due to noncompliance, cancellation will be effective immediately. A student is allowed one appeal. Luther Rice College & Seminary reserves the right to request and/or assess additional items to determine an applicant’s eligibility.
Luther Rice Georgia Scholar Award scholarships do not apply toward Certificates.
Scholarship awards are subject to the availability of institutional funds.

LUTHER RICE TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TAP)
The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a need-based scholarship designed to assist students who are unable to pay the standard tuition rate. Students may begin the TAP application after applying to Luther Rice College & Seminary; however, TAP applications are reviewed only after the student has been accepted. Awards may cover up to 50% of tuition and technology fees, based on demonstrated financial need.
The Tuition Assistance Program does not apply toward Not-For-Credit Certificates.

MILITARY TUITION ASSISTANCE
Committed to Military
Luther Rice College & Seminary is committed to helping U.S.military personnel pursue their education. Luther Rice is VA certified as well as nationally recognized by all military branches.
You can earn your entire degree 100% online worldwide or study on campus locally in Atlanta.
VA students from outside of Georgia need to work with the Atlanta Regional Processing Office instead of the regional VA office of their residency. Luther Rice's VA Facility Code is 31004011.

Waiver of Application Fee for Military Personnel
For a limited time Luther Rice will waive the $50 Application Fee for all current and former service members. When applying online enter the word military within the provided promo code field.
Refund if Called to Active Duty
Luther Rice will refund 100% of all tuition and fees for military personnel who receive orders calling them into active duty that must discontinue courses during the academic session. Contact the Student Accounts Office for details as soon as you receive official notification.
Refer to the Student Handbook for information about readmission after returning from a military service obligation.
Specific Programs
- Chapter 30 - Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty Educational Assistance Program
Eligible if you were on active duty (after basic training and any military school) and had $100/month deducted from your pay for the first 12 months of your enlistment (others may qualify - click link above for more information)
- Chapter 33 - Post-9/11 GI Bill
Eligible if you have at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or you have been discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will become effective for training on or after August 1, 2009
- Chapter 35 - Survivors' and Dependents' Education Assistance Program (DEA)
Provides education opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition, or who died while on active duty or as a result of a service related condition
- Chapter 1606 - Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Program
Eligible if you were on active duty (after basic training and any military school) and had $100/month deducted from your pay for the first 12 months of your enlistment (others may qualify - click link above for more information)
SPONSORSHIP
If your church, employer, or any other organization would like to sponsor your education and be directly invoiced for class costs, please complete a Sponsorship Authorization and FERPA Release. When completed, please upload both forms to the Student Accounts Office via My Secure File Transfer within MyCampus.

PRIVATE LOAN
Students may apply for private loans to fund their education at Luther Rice College & Seminary. Students should contact the lender of their choice to apply for a private loan because Luther Rice does not engage in any preferred lender arrangement.
Please note: students may qualify for federal student loans, which may have more favorable terms than a private loan. Contact the Luther Rice Financial Aid Office to further discuss private loans.
