Joshua Stewart grew up in Walton County, GA. He became a believer in 1999. Shortly after he walked away from his career as a rodeo athlete. He graduated from Luther Rice in 2005. Stewart earned a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Studies (2008), a Master of Theology (2010), and a PhD in Hebrew and Old Testament (2014) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Stewart’s research interests includes Hebrew linguistics, the Psalter, and Wisdom Literature. He taught at New Orleans and Luther Rice as an adjunct before joining the faculty of Luther Rice in 2013. He has served in churches as a college/singles minister and as a youth minister. He currently enjoys building, maintaining, and creating saltwater coral reef tanks. He also continues to dabble in riding/training horses, church history, reptile husbandry, and just being in the great outdoors. Stewart's great passion is to assist the church in the integration of sound-academics and thoughtful exposition.
