Tuition Assistance (TA) is a government-funded educational benefit that helps military service members from all branches with the cost of their tuition.
How to Request Tuition Assistance
The process for applying for military Tuition Assistance (TA) is generally consistent across all branches. The steps below provide an overview of the process.
- Confirm your eligibility. Contact your Education Services Officer (ESO) to verify that you qualify for Tuition Assistance.
- Submit your TA request. Follow your Education Office’s procedures for requesting TA for your course(s). Be sure to review the applicable submission window and request your assistance within the required timeframe.
- Provide cost-documentation if needed. Send an email to FinancialAid@LutherRice.edu if you need documentation to verify the cost of your upcoming course(s).
- Wait for approval. Your military branch will review and approve your Tuition Assistance request.
- Submit your approved form. Once your TA has been approved, send the required Tuition Assistance form to the Financial Aid Office through the My Secure File Transfer System within the MyCampus portal.
